Lately, I've even been telling people about how I'm burning the candles at both ends and taking almost all weekend to recover from the stress. And, when I have a lot of things scheduled on my weekends, it's even worse because I don't have any "down" time to relax.
These statements do NOT describe how I prefer to live my life!
Last night I asked myself, "Why?" to clarify why I'm doing what I'm doing.
If you're not familiar with the 5 Why's Exercise - here's my version
- Ask yourself a question.
- Whatever the answer is, ask Why again
- Whatever that answer is, ask Why again
- When your insides say "AHA!" - that's when you ask "okay, that's interesting. So, what am I going to do now?"
Here's my condensed conversation from last night
Why are you staying so busy? Because I don't want to be at home
Why don't you want to be at home? Because it's quiet and I don't know what to do with myself without a TV
Why did you give up your TV? Because TV had become a crutch to escape my life
Why do you want to escape your life? Because I'm unhappy
Why are you unhappy? Because my current life does not match what I wanted for myself
ah... so what am I going to do about it?

Really good Job! Sticking with it till you get a 'real answer' is not always easy and comfortable.
So, what are you doing about it???
Sorry you are so miserable sweetie. I hope you can find the light at the end of the tunnel to make you happy again.
So, I agree with Irene though, tell us what you are doing to change your situation. :-)
